The tree is really two trees bonded at the root. About 12 feet up they separate and form a fitting metaphor for the problem. This is an issue that is almost unreported by the main news media. A settler wants to run a sewage line thru an existing house. It doesn’t matter that a family lives there and has lived there for generations. The army comes and the house is destroyed in about a half hour. They are told, if they are told, that they have some time to gather up their most important possessions. Look at your own home. Think about what you would take with you. Nevertheless there are groups who are working to try to affect change.
